TITLE:                    Gulf Coast Business Development

 

REPORTS TO:       Vice President Business Development – Robotic NDE

 

FUNCTION:          The Gulf Coast Business Development position, under direction of the VP Business Development, has the primary job function to manage sales of a broad array of integrated services including robotic inspections with the focus primarily on aboveground storage tanks (AST) and pressure vessels.

COMPENSATION:         

Base salary with a commission.  Commission is expected to be approximately 25% of total compensation.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Identify target clients, size opportunities and prioritize sales development within assigned territory for in/out-of-service API 653 services including robotic inspections of aboveground storage tanks.

 

Build new business within your assigned territory.  This will involve seeking out new customers by cold calling and following up on leads.

 

Develop a comprehensive understanding of value propositions for individual service lines and effectively communicate to prospective clients.

 

Perform job walks when necessary, prepare job estimations and quotes, and, support all related customer service functions before, during and after project completion.

 

Participate in enterprise-wide sales training programs including, but not limited to, product knowledge, value-based selling skills and leadership development.

 

Employ analytics as appropriate to measure sales effectiveness and report outcomes to key stakeholders including operational and business unit leadership.

 

Promote new product development initiatives in collaboration with business unit leadership.

 

Collaborate with business unit leadership in development of annual budget to include revenue and earnings targets for key service lines by key customer, respectively.

 

Participate in industry committees, conferences and exhibits as prioritized and appropriate.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

 

BS or equivalent experience in the aboveground storage tank (AST) industry.
At least 3 years in tank inspection, assessment and engineering sales with a proven track record preferred.
Would also consider a strong sales record from other products or services within the above ground storage tank industry.
Must be self-motivated and have a winning attitude.
A technical understanding of AST related inspection, assessment and engineering regulations, standards and guidelines is preferred.
Willingness to comply with all random and scheduled drug testing.
Must be able to pass background check.
Must be able to pass company and customer safety training to gain access to customers facilities.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
Must be willing to travel by air when needed (approximately 10% travel by air).
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must have familiarity with all Office suite products

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Includes exposure to shop and field environments involving lifting of material and/or products up to 30 pounds.  Must be available by phone during nonstandard working hours.  During the training period, applicant will need to work on numerous project sites which include refineries, chemical plants, terminals etc.

Job Description

The Field Technician Foreman, under the direction of the Supervisor, Gulf Coast Operations, has the primary job function to lead and facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 related services including robotic inspections of aboveground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that safety procedures are being followed and equipment is in proper working order
Perform all inspections are in accordance with API 653 and other related standards.
Document all inspection activities in accordance with company and customer guidelines.
Recommend repairs and perform an inspection of completed repair work, as appropriate.
Manage accurate and professional communications with both customers and the office.
Manage and direct the field crew to efficiently complete each project.
Must be able to make quick decisions on the job to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Complete all required training within company guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

5 years of field inspection experience.
Must be API-653 Certified.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
Must be willing to travel by air when needed (approximately 75% travel), with little notice including travel overnight and by air.
Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
Ability to pass background and drug testing, including ongoing random testing.
Must have valid driver’s license, have or ability to obtain a passport, TWIC card (homeland security).
Must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces.
Must have knowledge or certified to perform MT, VT, MFE, PT and other NDE methods as required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May include occasional exposure to shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 30 pounds. Must be available by phone during nonstandard working hours. Includes travel schedule estimated 75%.
